It sometimes takes ~4 seconds for the camera to load up within Home, there is no lag within Surveillance Station. 4 or 8 Surveillance Device License Packs come with a single license key, allowing you to activate 4 or 8 surveillance devices. I did notice my camera appears to load much slower within the Home app than it does in the YouTube video. I have the same setup as the video: Wyze Cam v2 w/ RTSP firmware > Synology Diskstation > Homebridge in docker on Pi 3, shared with a Pi-hole docker. I've just tried - via AT&T 4G, the video stream latency is definitely under 750ms, I don't think I can ear-ball it with more precision. Good to know that you also seeing that issue, its not just me.īeing less than a 2 second delay compared to real life.
With regards to the latency, I just tested it on 4G and it was under 10 seconds so get the stream going However if SS does work for you, and you plan to stick with synology long term - maybe it foes make sense. and you can't resell them easily (or at all?), while used UI equipment gets sold on eBay like new. It still might make sense to sell those and buy Unifi - you can use unifi cameras with Surveilance Station (SS), but SS licenses are paperweight without surveillance station. And I do keep trying it every year just for fun to see if anything changed. And yet, surveillance station fails at doing them effectively. I don't think those are unreasonable scenarios: Open app to see what's going on now, and scrub back to see what happened in the past. And scrubbing from a mobile app is unusable on Surveilance station while with protect - is magically awesome (they pre-load a bunch of thumbnails) I meant how long does it takes to see the stream from the time you start the application.
